How to Customize a Ribbon? - No Minimum Order Guide

If you already have a design, or only have a general idea of what kind of ribbon you want, you can follow these steps to determine your production plan.
I. Determine the Color and Style of the Ribbon
Ribbons can be solid colored, or they can feature two or more colors combined with stripes, color-blocking, and other styles.
You can also match the ribbon to your medal by referencing the medal's metal color, enamel color, or theme color to make the overall look more coordinated.
Different color schemes can be chosen for different scenarios:
- Sports events, youth activities: Suitable for bright and lively colors such as blue, green, yellow, and red.
- Corporate recognition, anniversaries, formal awards: Suitable for calm color palettes such as black, dark blue, and burgundy.
- Themed events, holidays, or original designs: Color-blocking, wide and narrow stripes, or personalized patterns can be used to highlight the event theme.
If you have specific color requirements, you can refer to the Pantone color chart to determine the exact color code for accurate design reproduction.

II. Choose Ribbon Materials Suitable for the Purpose
High-quality satin or premium polyester materials look and feel more comfortable, smooth, delicate, and glossy when worn.
High-density weaving or thickened nylon materials are more wear-resistant, tensile-resistant, and fade-resistant.
The thickness and stiffness of the ribbon should be moderate (0.5mm~1.0mm); too soft makes it prone to sagging, while too thick affects folding and wearing comfort.
| Ribbon Material | Key Features | Suitable For |
| Polyester Ribbon | Durable, structured, vibrant colors, and cost-effective | Marathons, school competitions, and sports events |
| Satin Ribbon | Smooth, glossy surface with a soft feel and a more refined appearance | Formal award ceremonies, corporate recognition, and commemorative events |
| Nylon Ribbon | Strong, wear-resistant, and resistant to pulling and stretching, making it suitable for long-term use | Outdoor events and medals worn frequently |
| Cotton Ribbon | Soft, breathable, and natural-feeling, but less wear-resistant | School activities, children’s events, and lightweight medals |

III. Determine Ribbon Dimensions in Advance
Needs to be determined based on the wearing method:
Ribbon width
Ribbon length
Dimensions after folding
Whether fasteners need to be installed
Whether it needs to connect with a medal, etc.
IV. Process of Customizing a Ribbon
Ribbons are usually customized together with medals, so you can submit your ribbon requirements at the same time you customize your medals.
1、bmit Design Draft and Quantity
Send the ribbon design draft, medal design draft, and required quantity together to the manufacturer.
2、et Quotes and Production Plans
The manufacturer will confirm the price based on the design, quantity, and production requirements, and explain the available materials and craftsmanship.
3、onfirm Digital Mockups
Before placing an order, the manufacturer will provide the final mockup. Carefully check the colors, stripes, logo, dimensions, and how well the ribbon matches the medal to ensure they meet your requirements.
4、onfirm and Place Order for Production
After confirming the mockup and quote, you can place the order. The manufacturer will produce the medals and ribbons according to the final confirmed design.
